BAKERSFIELD - Residents in Frazier Park still can’t drink the water that flows out of their faucets.

The water is back on for hundreds of people in Frazier Park after a water main burst over the weekend, but the water hasn’t been declared safe to drink until test results come back negative of contaminates.

The mountain community may not be able to drink the water until Wednesday.

Officials said an underground water pipe leading to the Makgee tank froze, then cracked.

Makgee tank is a main water reserve for northwest Frazier Park.

The Red Cross set up a disaster center at the Frazier Park High School over the weekend so people could take showers and use the restrooms.
